Hi everyone! Is everybody enjoying the semester? I definitely am enjoying mine. This is my second semester with ACC, the first educational institution I've attended here in the United States. I am very happy with the quality of education I am getting from here so far. I remember a friend asked me, "you already have Bachelor's and Master's degrees, why are you at ACC? I said, "why wouldn't I?"
For anybody who is kind of wondering what career to pursue....you may want to consider a degree in paralegal as this is one of the fastest growing field in the country and one of the good paying jobs today. I find the legal field very interesting and challenging. Though I hate criminals and divorces, Criminal Law and Family Law are my two favorite subjects this semester. With outstanding and experienced instructors in the program, you'll learn in every single minute you spend in the class.
By the way, most of my friends are intrigued about what I've been doing with the student ambassador program. My answer is simple....having fun, meeting more people, making friends, going to places....and above all, enjoying the scholarship!
I have had two major activities so far. The Back to School Blitz was very rewarding. We were able to give some teenagers a hope to graduate from high school when they thought they couldn't. I was moved by the overwhelming support of local businesses, civic organiztions, and residents in the area to get students back to school to finish their education.
The AMOCO Federal Credit Union 7th Annual Meeting was more fun than what I expected....lots of food and freebies!!! What a nice experience to be able to talk to local businessmen and find out what they have to offer to the community. The same way, we were able to promote ACC programs and let them know how we can help students pursue their dreams. It is a very good networking opportunity for ACC's future projects and activities.
Given these, who wouldn't want the privilege of being one of the ACC's Student Ambassadors?
So join us next semester!
Imee Smith
